Scott E. Neuville, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Neuville became the President and CEO of Chesson Labs in January 2008. Neuville brings proven leadership and operational experience in highly technical and competitive healthcare markets to Chesson Labs. Prior to Chesson Labs, Neuville was the President, CEO and board member of Qualyst, Inc., a North Carolina based life sciences company. Neuville is also the former Chairman of the Board and CEO of iBiomatics, a SAS company. iBiomatics was the first healthcare technology spin-off of SAS Institute, the world’s largest privately held software company. Prior to iBiomatics, a SAS company, Neuville served as an executive with a healthcare software company. He played a major role in the development of the organization that led to a merger with A4 Health Systems in 2000. A4 health Systems was subsequently acquired by Allscripts (MDRX) in 2006. Prior to that, Neuville spent seven years at STERIS Corporation (STE) in several senior executive roles including President of the Americas Healthcare Division.

J. Houston Barnes, J.D., Vice President, Corporate Development
Mr. Barnes has over seven years experience within the business and legal communities. He has argued for clients with successful results in the North Carolina courts, as well as consulted with various businesses on marketing and business development strategies. Mr. Barnes graduated at the top of his class earning his business degree from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, and his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As well as being a member of the North Carolina State Bar, Mr. Barnes is currently serving as the financial chair on the Durham Capital Program Advisory Committee.

Lance L. Swick, Ph.D., Director of Product Development
Dr. Swick has over eight years of experience in the scientific and research communities. He has served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Neuroscience Research Center at UNC-Chapel Hill, School of Medicine where he discovered the first known mutations in the Drosophila AMPK gene. Dr. Swick has written numerous abstracts and publications focused on molecular biology and genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, and neuroscience. In addition, he has received several awards for his research activities and has been supported throughout his career by various foundations, including the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health. Dr. Swick holds a Ph.D. in neurobiology from Wayne State University, School of Medicine.

Timothy J. Romack, Ph.D., Product Development, Consultant
Dr. Romack has over 19 years of experience in the science and business communities having co-founded and served as the Vice President of Technology Development for Micell Technologies. Prior to that, Romack worked as a Research Assistant at UNC-Chapel Hill where he successfully developed the use of carbon dioxide for synthesis of non-aqueous fluoropolymers. He has written a combined total of 68 publications, 19 for peer-reviewed publications, and issued 49 U.S. patents. Dr. Romack is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at East Carolina University and a former petty officer in the U.S. Navy, where he received numerous military honors, including the Armed Forces and Navy expeditionary medals. Dr. Romack holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill with a specialization in synthetic polymer chemistry, and a B.S. in chemistry from Illinois State University.

Jerry S. Chesson, Founder
Mr. Chesson has over 40 years of management experience beginning in the financial industry with Wachovia Corporation. He is the founder of Southeastern Shelter Corporation and RMI Polymers, Inc. Mr. Chesson has served a wide variety of community causes notably serving as the founding president of the Durham Lions' Club. Mr. Chesson attended North Carolina Wesleyan College 1960-1964.

Tracy C. Shelton, CPA
Mrs. Shelton has sixteen years of experience in public accounting in the areas of audit, tax, consulting, acquisitions, liquidations, estates, construction, not-for-profit and wholesalers. Tracy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) and the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Council. Tracy received the certificate of achievement in taxation from the AICPA. She is also a past board member for the Durham County Literacy Council and a past member of the Fund Development Committee for Durham Health Partners. Tracy is a graduate of North Carolina State University and has a B.A. in Accounting.
